FAQ

01.What is the difference between high-speed juicer (blended) and slow juicer?

High-speed juicer typically utilize a fast-spinning metal blade that will generates heat while operation, which destroys some of the enzymes in the fruits and vegetables you’re juicing. The heat also oxidizes those nutrients, rendering less nutritious juice than a slow juicer. On the other hand, slow juicer extract juice by first crushing and then pressing fruit and vegetables for the highest juice yield. Because they don’t produce as much heat, they keep more of the fresh ingredients’ nutrients intact.

02.Isn’t it better to eat fruits and veggies rather than juice them?

Drink fruits and veggies juice can increase the nutrient absorption and decrease digestion time as compared with eat fruits and veggies. Dietary fiber facilitates the elimination of waste from the human body; however, it hinders the absorbency of nutrition. Fruit and vegetable juice with partially eliminated fiber can help increase the intake of major nutrients. Besides that, we often do not eat the amount produce of fruits and vegetables that is recommended daily. Therefore, juicing is a great way to incorporate much needed vitamins and minerals from plant-based foods into our diets.

03.Does “Slow Juicer” mean that it will take forever to make juice?

It’s called a Slow Juicer because it rotates at about 43 RPM for recent models (or about 80 RPM for the older models) compared to the 10,000 or higher RPM of typical high-speed juicers and blenders. The speed at which it actually extracts juice and comes out is the same and sometimes faster than some models we’ve tested.

04.What can I juice with a Hurom and what should I avoid?

The Hurom can juice just about all types of fruits and vegetables except the below:

  • Coconuts
  • Unsoaked/roasted nuts
  • Legumes
  • Sugar Cane
  • Frozen fruits (some fruit)
  • Fish/Meat
  • Liquor ice root or other woody materials
  • Dried herbs / spices
  • Stone fruit with stones within them containing the seeds
05.What’s the best way to prepare vegetables for juicing in the Hurom?

We recommend preparing your vegetables by washing or scrubbing them thoroughly and cutting them into a size so that the pieces will just fall through the feeder chute without needing to be pushed down. For instance chop carrots into ½” discs and all other root vegetables such as beetroot to a similar size.
